I enjoy cooking and although I am not offering to provide main meals, we will often do some cooking of snacks in the week. These can be very varied from fruit salads, jellys, vegetable pictures (make a face on a plate with various vegetables) to cookies and cakes. Healthy snacks are always offered with other items as part of a balanced diet.
I have always had an interest in arts and crafts and do enjoying using my sewing machine. I have made some creations for my own children, many of which will be used during my childminding such as mini oven gloves to go with the toy cooker and bedding for dollies. I also have made my children, my nieces and nephew their own Christmas stockings as well as making sleeping bags for their elves (see useful links to follow Buddy and Twinkle). |
I am Emma Allen I am a little over 30 (but not much). I have boy/girl twins who started primary school in September 2012.
I hold the following qualifications; HND in childhood studies, BSC Hons Open University, SVQ level 3 in Childcare , Current first aid by St Johns Ambulance (re trained every 3 years). Initial Training Course by Childminding matters and various courses in supporting Autistic Adults. Safeguarding training with the Norfolk Safeguarding Childrens Board to ensure the safety of your child at all times. I am renowned (so my friends tell me) for my messy play times. I appreciate many children enjoy getting messy and my philosophy always has been "we wash we dry" there is very little these days we can't clean - so please provide your child with some old clothes or clothes you don't mind if they get the odd mark. I enjoy the outdoors and we regularly go for nature walks in our local area. I advocate being safe when walking and focus on road safety from a young age. I will let children walk independently when I feel they can be trusted, I do ask them however not go too far from me and the buggy and if too far ask them to come back and walk with me for a short while. I believe fresh air and a walk is always good for the body and soul. Many of my friends will tell you I am probably at my happiest at the beach. This I do not view as a summer only activity and see nothing wrong with getting rugged up and having a muddy/sandy walk on the beach and looking for the fairy house in the woods. We have over the last year or so added camping to our past times as a family. Our most recent trip involved hiring a Yurt to stay in, this is something I would highly recommend to anyone x |
